Abstract We present a first-order recursive approach to sensitivity analysis based on the application of direct differentiation method inverse Lagrangian dynamics rigid multibody systems. Our is simple and efficient characterized by following features. Firstly, it describes kinematics systems using branch connectivity graphs joint-branch matrices. For most mechanical with an open-tree kinematic structure, this turns out be more compared other descriptions employing joint or link graphs. Secondly, presented for dynamic system structure equations described in terms formalism. Thirdly, known approaches analyses are modified include external forces torques acting simultaneously at all joints. Finally, proposed easy implement computationally efficient. It can utilized evaluate derivatives gradient-based optimization algorithms. also allows less experienced users perform power high-level programming languages such as MATLAB. To illustrate method, simulation results human body model discussed. The shortcomings possible directions future work outlined.
